You're Not Behind, You're Right On Time
Happy International Women's Day π€
Today, we honour women.
We honour the women who came before us, the ones who fought for rights we now hold, who broke barriers we now walk through, who sacrificed so we could dream bigger.
We honour the women building empires in boardrooms and from kitchen tables.
We honour the single mothers balancing everything, the corporate climbers breaking glass ceilings, and the entrepreneurs starting from scratch.
We honour the women who are tired but still showing up. The ones who are scared but still starting. The ones who are doubting themselves but still building.
We honour the dreamers, the doers, the quiet warriors, and the loud revolutionaries.
We honour YOU exactly where you are right now.
Whether you're just starting or you've been building for years. Whether you have it all figured out or you're still finding your way. Whether you've already launched or you're still planning.
You are worthy of celebration today.
And while we're celebrating, I want to tell you something you need to hear:
You are not behind.
The Lie We Keep Believing
I know it feels like everyone else started years ago. I know you see women with thriving businesses, big email lists, successful courses, and you think, "I missed my window."
I know you tell yourself:
"I'm too late."
"Everyone else already did this."
"I should have started five years ago."
"I don't have the right experience yet."
"I'm not tech-savvy enough."
And here's what that story really is: Fear disguised as logic.
Because the truth is, it's never too late to start building something you own.
The digital economy isn't going anywhere. The need for what YOU have to offer isn't disappearing. The women who need to hear YOUR voice, learn from YOUR experience, and buy YOUR solutions? They're out there right now, waiting.
They're not waiting for the perfect version of you. They're waiting for the REAL version of you.
And that version? She's ready right now.
The Woman Who Started at 40 and Built an Empire
Let me tell you about Iyanla Vanzant.
Today, she's a household name, bestselling author, spiritual teacher, and host of OWN's Iyanla: Fix My Life. Millions of people know her voice, trust her wisdom, and follow her work.
But here's what most people don't know:

Iyanla didn't publish her first book until she was in her 40s.
Before that? She was a single mother on welfare, working multiple jobs just to survive. She faced poverty, domestic violence, and every obstacle you can imagine.
At an age when many people think it's "too late" to start something new, Iyanla made a decision: She was going to build something that mattered.
She started writing. She started teaching. She started sharing her truth.
Today, she's published over a dozen bestselling books, built a multi-million-pound brand, and impacted millions of lives around the world.
She didn't start early. She started when she was ready.
And you know what? The same applies to you.
Why NOW is Actually the Perfect Time
Here's what I need you to understand:
The women who are "ahead" of you? They're not better than you. They just started earlier. That's it.
But here's the beautiful part: You get to learn from their mistakes.
You get to see what works and what doesn't. You get to use better tools, smarter strategies, and proven systems. You get to skip the trial-and-error phase they had to go through.
And most importantly? The market isn't saturated. Your voice is still needed.
Because no one has YOUR story. No one has YOUR perspective. No one serves YOUR people the way you will.
There are women out there right now who will ONLY hear the message when it comes from you. Not from someone who started five years ago. From YOU.
That's not being late. That's being right on time.
To the Black Women Reading This
Can we be honest about something for a moment?
As Black women, we're navigating a digital economy that wasn't built for us. We're building businesses in systems that don't always see us, support us, or celebrate us.
We carry the weight of:
- Lack of access to funding
- Fewer mentors who look like us
- Imposter syndrome that tells us we're not "expert enough"
- Perfectionism that keeps us from starting
- The pressure to be twice as good to get half as far
And yet, we're STILL opening businesses at the fastest rate of any demographic.
Do you know what that tells me?
We are BUILDERS. We are RESILIENT. We come from a lineage of women who made a way out of no way.
Our grandmothers built businesses out of their homes when doors were closed to them.
Our mothers worked twice as hard to create the opportunities we now have.
And now? It's our turn.
We have tools they never had. We have access they never dreamed of. We have platforms that can reach millions.
And if they could build empires with their bare hands, their voices, and their unshakeable faith?
We can build with what we have today.
You're not behind, sis. You're carrying a legacy forward.
And your time to build is NOW.
What You Need to Start Building Today
You don't need: β A massive following
β Years of experience
β A perfect website
β Thousands of pounds to invest
β Tech skills
You DO need: β
A decision to START
β
One digital asset to build (email list, course, podcast, product)
β
Consistency
β
A willingness to learn as you go
β
The belief that you deserve to OWN something that grows
That's it.
The rest? You'll figure it out along the way. Just like every other woman who's building something from scratch.
β¨ BLACK WOMEN WINNING:
One of our WIDB members is 52 years old. She spent 30 years in corporate. She thought she was "too old" to start an online business.
But she joined us, started building, and within six months she:
- Launched her first online course
- Built an email list of 300 people
- Made her first Β£5,000 online
She told me, "I wish I had started sooner, but I'm so glad I didn't wait any longer."
That's the energy we need today. πͺπΎ

π REAL TALK:
On this International Women's Day, I want you to do something for me:
Stop being so hard on yourself.
Stop comparing your Chapter 1 to someone else's Chapter 20.
Stop waiting for "perfect" before you start.
Stop telling yourself you're too late, too old, too inexperienced, too anything.
You are enough. Right now. Exactly as you are.
And the world needs what you have to offerβnot five years from now when you feel "ready," but NOW.
YOUR NEXT STEP:
Today, on International Women's Day, I want you to do one thing:
Decide.
Decide that you're going to stop waiting. Stop comparing. Stop telling yourself you're too late.
Decide that you're going to build ONE digital asset this year. Just one.
Then comment below and tell me what you're building. I want to know. I want to celebrate you. π€
Let's build together,
Natalia
