Her love for baking and hip-hop led her to create Kimmy Kakes RVA – a woman, and minority owned small business that offers made from scratch baked goods.
Specializing in pound cakes, Kimmy Kakes received the 2021 and 2022 First Place Blue Ribbon Award at the Virginia State Fair Adult Culinary Arts Competition for her “Dear Mama” pound cake. Her “Welcome To Jam Rock” Rum Pound cake is sold in store in RVA. Fan favorites like “Crush on You” (crushed oreo topping) and “Brooklyn’s Finest” (Linden’s butter crunch topping) can be purchased directly from Kim herself at various pop-up markets around RVA.
Although her pound cakes are legendary, don’t get it twisted…Kimmy Kakes is more than just cake. As a diet inclusive baker, Kim also offers vegan, gluten free, and sugar-free baked goods. From pound cakes to cake jars, to cupcakes to donuts, Kimmy Kakes prides herself on delivering fresh baked good with love and care.
