From Humble Beginnings to Hidden Greatness
Picture a cold Georgia night. A little girl in a white winter coat, standing outside as her mother whispers, “Ladybug, you were born for greater than this.”
Those words didn’t just soothe her — they rewired her destiny.
That little girl was Lethia Owens, growing up in Albany, Georgia, in a home filled with resilience, faith, and just enough to get by until tomorrow. Her parents hustled — collecting and restoring discarded furniture, selling at flea markets, and modeling excellence with whatever they had.
“My dad taught me that excellence isn’t about what you have,” she recalls. “It’s about how you handle what you’ve got.”
That lesson became her compass — guiding her through every season of struggle and success that followed.
Excellence Over Excuses
By fifteen, Lethia was a teen mom and a high school dropout. The odds were stacked, and the whispers were loud.
One teacher, Mr. Wilder, sealed it with a sentence meant to define her: “You’ll never amount to anything. You’ll probably spend the rest of your life on welfare.”
But that prophecy became her fuel.
Every late-night study session, every SAT word on the bus, every decision to choose growth over grief — they were acts of defiance and belief.
With help from her then-boyfriend, who covered her SAT fee, Lethia earned a near-perfect score and a full scholarship to Albany State University — the same school where failure had been forecasted.
At 19, she launched her first tech company, not to follow a trend, but to create opportunity where none existed. When four brilliant programming students couldn’t find internships, she built a business for them. That venture led to a major corporate contract with Procter & Gamble, cementing her as a visionary in tech long before diversity became a corporate priority.
“I didn’t come to think about it,” she once told a room full of executives. “I came to make it happen.”
Building Power from Purpose
From there, her rise was relentless. Lethia became a top-performing executive at Union Pacific Railroad and State Farm Insurance, leading digital transformation initiatives that reshaped the way those companies operated.
Her secret wasn’t luck — it was alignment. She blended technology and empathy, strategy and soul, automation and authenticity.
Success, for Lethia, was never just about climbing ladders — it was about building bridges. That mindset led her to found Next Level Biz, where she now helps entrepreneurs leverage AI automation to create businesses that serve their purpose, not their exhaustion.
She’s since authored 14 books, with five bestsellers, and served as President of the Black National Speakers Association. Through global stages and media appearances on Fox, CBS, and NBC, she’s become one of the most powerful voices in branding, innovation, and leadership.
Her message remains the same one whispered on that cold Georgia night:
“You were born for greater.”
The Legacy Algorithm
Lethia’s impact doesn’t end with her accolades — it multiplies through others.
She’s built individual companies for each of her grandchildren, teaching them ownership, financial literacy, and stewardship before they reach adulthood. She’s created scholarships, mentored hundreds of women in tech, and launched Game Changers International, a movement for those ready to disrupt mediocrity with purpose.
“Legacy,” she says, “isn’t about what you accumulate — it’s about what you contribute.”
Years after being told she’d never make it, Lethia drove back to Westover High School, found Mr. Wilder, and extended her hand.
“I wanted to let you know,” she said gently, “you were wrong.”
She didn’t say it for revenge. She said it to prove that limitation-based prophecies always miss one thing — the power of belief.
